An elegant, boho chic wedding...
On the 18th of July 2015 we did the Bridal make up and hair for Kellie, her bridesmaids and her mother. Although Kellie lives in London she was getting married in Evesham, so naturally, she wanted to find a bridal hair and make up artist that was based nearer to her venue. After googling she came across Make My Day Make Up online, and got in touch. With Kellie living so far away from where we are based it was important for us to have a really good chat to establish what Kellie wanted and what we could offer her. Due to the distance between us and having to factor in travel time it was worth making sure we were both happy with all the details. After chatting we were both confident that we wanted to meet for trial.
The Bridal trial...
Initially, I met Kellie where she lives in London. It’s not unusual for the demands of work to take us to London and I personally do love to travel (even for work), so any excuse is welcomed! I met Kellie in London for her bridal trial. For her bridal make up Kellie wanted something effortlessly beautiful with a pretty bohemian vibe and like most boho brides wanted sustainable, yet natural bridal make up. We decided on a beautiful, natural smokey eye, using the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Palette - Naked 1. Kellie is a gorgeous English rose, so we kept everything very soft. We used one of our Nars Palettes to do some light contouring, a vintage pink blush by Bare Minerals to add a pop of colour to the cheeks and we finished the look with a subtle nude lip.
For her bridal hair, Kellie wanted a romantic, loose waterfall braid with lots of texture and floral details. To create a super feminine look I added some beautiful, fresh gypsophila flowers, these emphasised the carefree boho vibe. I love creating beautiful, interesting hair with lots of pretty personality. Our approach to hair styling at Make My Day Make Up Studio is definitely more alternative and current than the styling of a traditional bridal make up and artist. I am glad to say that her trial lived up to her expectations and she chose to join the Make My Day Bride Tribe!
The Wedding Venue...
Kellie got married at The Wood Norton, in Evesham. Such a beautiful venue, I would recommend anyone considering an Evesham Wedding to go take a look! On the morning of her wedding the weather was picture perfect, at that moment I couldn't think of a more perfect setting for a wedding on a summers day! We arrived at the venue greeted by a very happy Kellie and her fabulous bridal party. It's important with a large bridal party to make sure that you prepare for every eventuality, Larger wedding parties do take more organising, but generally, they are always in great spirits on the wedding morning and this one was no different! There was a nice, fun atmosphere which is always really lovely to be part of.
The Wedding theme...
Kellie's wedding theme was very gorgeous. I loved the attention to detail and the vintage feel to her styling, from the beautiful bridal robe to the lace details in her wedding dress. The pastel colours in the bridesmaid dresses worked really well with the wedding theme! The bridesmaids all had slightly different dresses, all in different pastel shades which really adds to the bohemian chic vibe. The fact the dresses didn't match exactly made everything that bit more effortlessly beautiful. Everything from Kellie's beautiful lace wedding dress, to the bridal flowers were perfect.
Overall Kellie looked effortlessly alluring to the eye and I was very proud to have played the part of bridal hair make up artist on her special day
