Plaits for the bridesmaid
Plaits are very popular amongst our bohemian brides and bridesmaids. They are a really pretty way of introducing texture and shape into a boho updo and can look beautiful with real flowers like gypsophila placed in and around them. In my experience plaits tend to look better in blonde hair, that's not to say they don't look nice if you are brunette... it's just the darker your hair is the harder it is hard to see the detail of a plait. If your a bride who is considering a plaited updo It's worth bearing in mind how much hair there is 'to play with' as you do tend to 'loose' a lot of the hair when you incorporate plaits into a style, especially if you want them to look thicker and fuller. There are a few methods we can try to create the illusion of fuller plaits and I always recommend hair extensions if you want to add body and volume to your bridal hair style.
There are lots of different types of plaits, some are more whimsical than others and they can certainly be tailored to suit the style of your wedding. For example, If you are getting married on a summers day and you are having an outdoor ceremony you may consider a loose, textured plait that has been 'pulled out a little' to create a more messy, less effortless finish. If you love plaits as much as our boho babes but perhaps your wedding theme is more along the classic and elegant lines, there may still be a way of incorporating a plait by keeping the detail neater and adding it into a sleek updo.
Plaits are actually really versatile and can be worn in SO many ways, that is why we LOVE them so much!
